If the European Union truly seeks to demonstrate its commitment to security and democratic values, it must begin by immediately lifting the unjust measures imposed on the Republic of Kosova.
The continuation of these sanctions; aligned with the hegemonic mentality of Russia and Serbia, renders the EU nothing more than a paper tiger, devoid of both strength and strategic coherence. In such a scenario, Europeโ€™s commitment to Ukraineโ€™s security risks appearing not just weak, but outright laughable.
If Europe is serious about defending Ukraine against Russian aggression, it must recognize that its stance on Kosova is a test of its credibility. One cannot claim to be fighting Russian fascism in the East while simultaneously tolerating its influence within the EUโ€™s own decision-making on the Balkans.
European security does not begin on the frontlines of Donbas, but in the Republic of Kosova; where injustices against a young democracy strike at the very core of European values.
Any delay in lifting these measures undermines the EUโ€™s credibility and emboldens forces that seek to destabilize Europe.
If the EU aspires to be a decisive global actor rather than a passive and feeble bystander, then it must start with Kosova.
The London Summit risks becoming nothing more than stale rhetoric if the mockery of Kosovoโ€™s citizens is allowed to persist.
